On Sep 15th Sept Department of Journalism and Mass Communication conducted an interactive session as part of the inauguration of our latest offering BSc Visual Communication. The session was conducted by Hrusheekesh Anilkumar whose most memorable quote during the session was “You are 3 seconds away from changing the world.”

Hrusheeleesh Anilkumar is the founder and creative head of Reel Tribe an Instagram creative page. Before beginning his career as a content creator, he was a Radio Jockey. He was a science student who was an IIT aspirant who turned to CA and now he is a successful Content creator. He understands the pulse of the students which is why the session was both entertaining as well as educating. Students enjoyed the session all along.

The Session held the audience well and created an impact among students. The speaker talked about how the content creator should plan the aftertaste of his content right before he/she plans the content. This after taste matters in both life and content. If we took a course or any decision in our life and if we don’t have any idea of the end result then that decision will not help us. He took the students to next level with regard to the content making.

Creative irritation is a term Hrushee himself termed came with. Initially, the students found it confusing. How can a creative make irritation? Well, it was actually the urge of the speaker to create different and creative posts from the regular boring posts.

The session was very insightful as to how social media Instagram has changed the way of photo to video content and now relevancy is important said Jovan Noronha, second year student of MA (Journalism and Mass Communication)

You can only be a content creator only if you are a storyteller said Hrushee. The session focused on how the contents need to be story oriented and relatable to the audience. We found out why our social media page is not growing. It’s basically because we are not doing anything different, then it’s the same old posts and pictures.
