SAC Explores Unconventional Career Opportunities in ‘Anveshan 2023’

The Departments of Science at St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, organised “ANVESHAN-
2023”, a workshop on Exploring Unconventional Career Opportunities in Science. The event was held at
LF Rashquina Hall ,LCRI block of SAC campus on September 13.
An alumnus, Mr Belle Karunakar Rao, was the chief guest of honour. Mr Vijayakrishna Shetty, CEO,
Thought Genesis Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru was also present on the occasion.
Rev. Dr Praveen Martis SJ, Principal, congratulated the Departments of Sciences for taking initiative to
conduct such a meaningful programme. During the programme Mr Belle Karunakar Rao was honoured
for his valuable services to the society. This was followed by him reminiscing about his school and
college days at St.Alosyious institutions.
The programme had three technical sessions. The resource people included Ms. Lynn Mascarenhas, a
coffee producer and owner of St. Margaret Estate, Mr. Vijay Krishna Shetty, CEO of Thought Genesis
Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Bengaluru and Mr Pradeep Damle, The Head of Marketing at Dash Square.
Mr Vijay Krishna Shetty discussed how marketing was made possible by globalization and how it is the
primary driver of economic progress. He also talked about how AI is being used in every industry on the
planet and how we must be willing to take on risks and obstacles in order to promote new products. Ms
Lynn gave an explanation of how using already-existing resources and coming up with a better idea can
help you become a creative entrepreneur who can grow your company. She further stated that we must
take environmental issues into account. Mr Pradeep Damle emphasized on the importance of having
good skills in every sector. He stressed on the importance of updating oneself and trying out everything.
He also mentioned the value of reading business books and publications for entrepreneurs looking to
refine their business concepts.
